Responsibilities

Design and develop Cognos Framework models (Relational and Dimensional), Transformer models, building cubes and reports in adherence to best practices.

 

  • Collect and analyze information requirements from users

  • Address requirements by developing effective solutions

  • Develop and maintain Cognos reporting, querying and analysis solutions

  • Work closely with database resources to build and support the information environment

  • Develop, maintain and manage Cognos Cubes, Transformer Models, Framework Manager Models and Reports

  • Provide status on issues and progress to client managers

  • Develop and implement reports / queries to help drive business processes

Required:

  • Over 5 -8 years SQL development experience on multiple DB Platforms (SQL Server, DB2, Oracle, Sybase, mySQL)

  • Solid understanding of Cognos 10.1

  • Excellent client-facing consulting skills

  • Excellent communication, written and verbal and documentation skills

Desired

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Flexible and capable of juggling multiple priorities and willing to do what it takes to meet critical deadlines

  • Proven ability to work quickly and independently

  • Provide professional documentation

 

Good to have

  • MS Access and Excel reporting experience

  • Experience with Open Source solutions , Data Modeling, SQL Server Reporting / Integration Service and IBM System environment
