Responsibilities
WebSphere Application Server Administration /Support resource will join a WAS-WebSphere Application Server Infrastructure Support team. This individual will participate in incident resolution and problem determination/root cause analysis for events related to WAS. The resource may also participate in product maintenance and upgrade projects and be mainly responsible for:

WAS Installation & Administration and Tomcat Installation & Administration and Overall Support/Troubleshooting

Add WebSphere JVM to Introscope

Build new Tomcat web server

Build new Tomcat/tcServer environment

Build new WAS environment
-
Build new WAS web server
-
Build new WebSphere web server
-
Change JVM session parameters
-
Change SSL Certificates
-
Convert WAS JVM to Cluster

Create new Data Sources
-
Enable thread dumps and heap dumps
-
Enable and disable Verbose GC
-
Import web servers into DM
-
Manual code deploys
-
Restart IBM Node Agent
-
Restart JVM*s from the command line
-
Change web server timeout
Required

6- 8 years of relevant experience
-
Apache / IHS experience
-
Competent in PERL scripting
-
Directory Services knowledge: LDAP
-
Database knowledge: Oracle, DB2, MySQL

Understand ITSM Change and Incident management

Familiarity with WebSphere/Tomcat administration
